Adding fundamental hand tools to your skillset can make you a better woodworker. At the end of the day, there's no need for fancy power tools -- a woodworker can still accomplish almost anything with a knowledge of basic hand tool best practices and a bit of elbow grease.
At the heart of it, woodworking is about working with lines and measurements. Learning how to properly use hand tools to saw, plane, and chisel to that line with great precision is the key to success, and that's why we recommend most woodworkers go through WRK101 as a jumping off point.
